Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

1. About CampusGig

CampusGig is an online marketplace that connects verified .edu students for the exchange of services. We provide the platform — we are not a party to the transactions between buyers and sellers. All services are performed by independent student contractors, not CampusGig employees.

2. Eligibility

You must have a valid .edu email address to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you are currently enrolled at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States. We reserve the right to verify your enrollment status and suspend accounts that do not meet this requirement.

3. Platform Fees

CampusGig charges a 10% platform fee on each completed transaction, deducted from the seller's payout. There are no fees for creating an account, posting listings, or browsing. All prices displayed on listings represent the total amount the buyer pays.

4. Escrow & Payments

When a buyer initiates a purchase, the payment is authorized and held (not captured). This "escrow-like" hold protects both parties: the seller knows the buyer has committed funds, and the buyer's payment is only captured when they confirm the work is complete. Uncaptured holds automatically expire after 7 days.

All payments are processed through Stripe. By using CampusGig, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

5. Prohibited Content & Conduct

  • Academic dishonesty (writing papers, taking exams, or completing graded assignments for others)
  • Services that violate federal, state, or local laws
  • Harassment, discrimination, or threatening behavior
  • Spam, fake listings, or misleading descriptions
  • Attempting to circumvent the platform to avoid fees
  • Sharing accounts or using another person's .edu credentials

Violations may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of any held funds.

6. Dispute Resolution

We encourage buyers and sellers to resolve disputes directly through our messaging system. If you cannot reach a resolution, contact us at support@campusgig.com. We will review the situation and may mediate, but we are not obligated to resolve disputes and our decision is final.

7. Limitation of Liability

CampusGig is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of services exchanged, the truth or accuracy of listings, or the ability of users to complete transactions. Our total liability is limited to the platform fees collected on the specific transaction in question.

8. Modifications

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of CampusGig after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify users of material changes via email.
